Brand Guide

Welcome to the Multifactor brand guide. This document provides an overview of our brand identity, including our logo, colors, typography, and more. Please refer to this guide when creating any materials that represent the Multifactor brand. All external uses of our brand must be consistent with our Legal Documents, including restrictions on the use of our trademarks. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions about our brand guidelines or legal policies.

Icon

Multifactor's primary icon consists of a 3D geometric view of three vertically-stacked checkmarks, rendered in each of our three dark primary colors, and viewed from a 45° pitch above the horizontal plane. The checkmark symbol embodies the concept of verification, which is central to our core mission of providing secure and reliable zero-trust authentication, authorization, and auditing for the modern web. Additionally, the triple repetition of the checkmark symbol represents the concept of “multiple factors” which forms the foundation of our brand identity.

Our light icon substitutes our dark primary colors for our three light primary colors, and is designed for use in circumstances where the primary icon would provide insufficient contrast with its background.

Each icon in the vertical stack casts a linear shadow on the icon below it, which is converted into a transparent region to emphasize each of the icon's distinct layers. The negative space between these icons forms a subtle “M” for “Multifactor.” Furthermore, hovering over our logos or icons on the web typically triggers an animation that reveals each of the separate layers of the icon, further emphasizing the “M” in the negative space. Try hovering over the icon below to see this effect in action.

Guidelines

The icon is designed to be simple, modern, and easily recognizable. It can be used in various sizes and formats, including as a standalone icon or as part of the full logo. The icon should always be used in its original form, in one of the two provided color schemes (primary or light), and should not be altered or distorted in any way. For example, please don't make any of the following unauthorized changes:

Clearance

Please leave a minimum of half the width of the icon as a horizontal clearance space in both directions. For vertical clearance, use the animated (expanded) version of the icon as a guide, which is about 1.5× of the height of the standard icon.

Framed Icons

To assist with compliant use of our icon on social media and other online platforms, we provide a set of ready-to-use framed icons that adhere to all of our clearance guidelines and feature our brand colors. You may optionally choose to use these pre-framed icons instead of creating your own.

Fonts

Our title font is Microgramma Std Extended by URW, a retrofuturistic sans-serif typeface that conveys a satisfying blend of high-tech innovation with security and stability. We use this font for all of our product logos, as well as sparingly for titles and emphasized section headers.

Our body font is Inter by Rasmus Andersson, a modern sans-serif typeface designed for legibility and clarity. We use this font for all of our marketing materials, including our website, brochures, and presentations. Inter is available in a variety of weights and styles, allowing us to create a consistent and cohesive look across all of our materials.

For icons, we use FontAwesome Pro with the Sharp Solid style. The sharp icon style complements the sharp design of our brand icon and backgrounds, and our very limited use of border radius throughout our websites and applications.

Colors

Our primary brand colors are saturated shades of red, orange, and yellow, while our light brand colors consist of various transparencies of pure white, allowing part of the background to show through. When representing a concept with “multiple factors,” we always use all three of the primary or light colors, including in our icon and logo. We also occasionally use a
linear gradient
with our primary or light colors for emphasis of concepts that involve the integration of multiple factors. Our secondary colors consist of five shades of slate gray, and are used to create logical sections of content or to shade foreground text. Please do not deviate from the authorized colors when representing our brand.

Backgrounds

We use a distinct style of 3D geometric backgrounds to create a sense of depth and dimensionality in our designs. Our backgrounds consist of an infinitely tiling pattern of 3D prisms, which are arranged in a way that creates a sense of movement and flow. Our primary background uses a tileable checkmark (fused herringbone) pattern as the basis of the prism, viewed from a 45° pitch above the horizontal plane, creating the same basic shape as our primary icon. The infinite repetition of this pattern recalls our core theme of “multiple factors” and the represents tight and seamless integration of Multifactor's products and solutions. We also occasionally display this background with a static or interactive animated effect.

Graphics

We use flowcharts as our primary graphical element across our web presence. Flowcharts help us convey product features as they really work: by securely integrating multiple data streams, factors, or other Multifactor products, into a cohesive experience for developers and end users alike.

Products

Our product icons and logos use the same basic template as our brand icon and brand logo, including the same fonts and colors, but with the checkmark being replaced by a unique icon for each product. Some of our products also have their own background design that deviates from our brand backgrounds. For example, MFKDF uses an infinitely-tiling hexagon pattern rather than infinitely-tiling checkmarks, as the MFKDF icon itself forms the shape of a hexagon.
